Bo'ness Real Ale Festival enters its 2nd decade

There was never any real doubt after the success of last year's 10th Anniversary festival.

We all enjoyed it and I know that all of you who were lucky enough to be able to attend, all enjoyed it too!

The dates for your diary

This year the festival is still being held in October but just a week later:

Bo'ness Town Hall

  • Friday 7 October, 5pm till 11pm
  • Saturday 8 October, Noon till 11pm
A local man, an aquaintance, and a sponsor as well, had the audacity to book OUR weekend for an anniversary of his own although he has asked if we could help organise a bar and supply him with some decent beer so we might let him off and even allow him into the festival the following weekend!

Bands, beer and burgers

Bands. We've booked the same bands as last year. They went down pretty well, just like the ale. You seemed to like them and so did we.

Beer. There will also be the same selection of ales to sample, some you'll already know and some that will be new to us all. There's bound to be one you'll find to your taste.

And, this year, Harry's Bar, after the success of last year's Belgian beer event, will be doing the same for America. It's surprising just how many micro breweries there are and how many good beers they brew. You will be able to sample a good selection of them through in the library.

Burgers. There will be the usual range of pub type grub as there always has been in previous years in addition to the ever popular burgers and, of course, soft drinks for the unlucky drivers.

So, get these dates into your organiser, diary or smartphone and keep in touch for updates. And, we'll see you then!
