Bo'ness Real Ale Festival 2012

Once again it is time to start planning (well, we've started already) for this year's annual real ale festival.

We always enjoy putting it on, and we  know that everyone who are able to attend, all seem to enjoy it too! So...

Dates for your diary in 2012

This year the festival is still being held in October and back to normal first weekend of the month:

Bo'ness Town Hall

  • Friday 5 October, 5pm till 11pm
  • Saturday 6 October, Noon till 11pm

Band, beer and burgers (I always like alliteration)!

Bands. This year is going to be a wee bit different in that there will only be a band on Saturday night! Why? A lot of you do like to come and listen to the music and that's great but many also said that it is sometimes too loud to just have a chat with friends.

So, Friday night will be a quiet night (well, no band) with only some background music to take the edge of the silence! We've booked last year's Friday night entertainment for Saturday. They went down pretty well, just like the ale so it seemed like a good move.

Hope you agree but your opinions are always welcome and wll be taken into consideration for future festivals. Note, future festivals! We intend to just keep on going as long as you want to come!

Beer. There will also be the same varied selection of ales to sample, some you'll already know and some that will be new and not tasted before from new breweries as well.

And, this year, Harry's Bar, after the success of previous couple of year will feature a Continental beer range, expanding on its first year Belgian selections. Again, you will be able to sample a good selection of them through in the library.

Burgers. There will be the usual range of pub type grub as there always has been in previous years in addition to the ever popular burgers and, of course, pies and soft drinks.

So, get these dates into your organiser, diary or smartphone and keep in touch for updates. And, we'll see you then!
