Theme for 2011 Bo'ness Ale Festival

It gets more difficult every year finding appropriate themes for the festival.

We try to find a theme that is relevant and something that promotes and encourages visitors to Bo'ness.

In the past it has ranged from a campaign to re-open Bo'ness harbour, the refurbishment & re-opening of Scotland's first purpose-built cinema, The Hippodrome, to the Antonine Wall being designated a world heritage site (it starts in Bo'ness and ends at Old Kirkpatrick on the west coast).

2011 Theme - Bo'ness Hill Climb

After a 'Reminiscence' day held at Bo'ness on the 17th May 2007 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the inaugural meeting of the British Hill Climb Championship the event generated an upsurge of enthusiasm and support for the resumption of motor sport on this famous old hill.

The Bo'ness Hill Climb Revival Club was founded to bring speed hill climbing back to Bo'ness and the first Revival Meeting was held on August 9/10th, 2008.

This year will be the fourth and each has being going from strength to strength just like the beer festival so it seemed appropriate to help it along and give it a little boost so this year our commemorative glass logo is supporting the hill climb.

After just celebrating the Bo'ness Real Ale Festival's 10 anniversary last year we look forward to celebrating the Hill Climb's 10th Anniversary in 2017.

It's an empty glass now but why not come along on the night and fill it up and enjoy a taste of one of the 32+ beers that will be on tap?

Good luck to the Hill Climb and hope the weather's good and all goes well over the weekend!
