Thanks to all our sponsors for another great year!

It was 'cheers' all round as Bo'ness Real Ale Appreciation Society thanked sponsors who made last October's festival such a success.

Festival sponsors in 2008 at presentation in Riverview

This year BRAAS has been able to donate £2500 to good causes, including Valley FM and the Journal and Gazette's Have a Heart Appeal. It got our defibrillator fund off to the best possible start by giving a massive £1500.

Sponsors help make it all happen

Such generosity was enabled not only by those who came in their droves to the Town Hall for real ale and music, but also by event sponsors, who made it all happen, Guy Goodwin, BRAAS vice chairman, said: "They effectively cover the costs of the bar, the glasses and the entertainment.

"We just have to draw people in to participate and that's where the profits† or good causes come from. Without the sponsors, we wouldn't be as successful."

At the town's Riverview bar (above), the BRAAS committee showed their appreciation by inviting them for a pie & a pint and commemorative tankard.

9th Festival just round the corner

Meanwhile, real ale fans thirsty for more don't have long to wait, with the† ninth annual festival on Friday, October 2 and Saturday 3.
